My personal road bike built from a Columbus Neuron tube set with an externally butted seat tube, Fillet brazed top and down tube, and a lugged cast bottom bracket shell.  

I've used a traditional 73 seat and head head tube angle, but improved rigidity and responsiveness by using a semi compact design. Neuron has been superseded by Zona is a mid to upper range Nivachrome set, light enough for racing, yet tough enough to be able to transport without too much risk of damage.
